Let's Get Motivated

No Pain No Gain

                I know everybody doesn't enjoy calorie burning activities but my therapy is definitely exercise. I want to help keep you guys motivated and share some of the ways I like to get in a good sweat. There are many different ways to make exercise fun. You can always choose using the buddy system if you enjoy the company of a friend or family member to help keep you going. Another option is to join a gym and take a class. If you don't have money to join a gym you can always workout right from the comfort of your own home or outside. I try to challenge myself and set fitness goals. My current fitness goal is to run ten miles without stopping. I also recommend writing down all of your workouts and eating habits in a journal. It's a great way to keep track and stay focused on the goal your trying to achieve. It's important to fit exercise into your schedule and develop a routine your comfortable with.

                Exercise and eating healthy is a lifestyle. Once you get accustomed to a healthier way of living you'll notice a huge impact on your mind and body. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. It improves your mood and boosts energy. Remember the rule is 80% diet and 20% exercise to having successful weight loss.  You must make sure to eat a clean diet as well. Personally I try to cook my meals from home instead of going out to eat. I also try to plan my meals ahead and I notice I make much better choices that way. Of course you have to treat yourself as well. I usually allow myself a day to indulge once a week on Saturday's. It gives me something to look forward to at the end of each week.

Different exercises I have tried that have worked for me:

Workout DVD's (Jillian Michaels and P90X)
Cardio machines (eliptical, stairmaster, treadmill, stationary bicycle, etc.)
Classes at the gym (cycle, body pump, kickboxing, swim class, etc.)
Run/Sprint Outside
Walk Outside
Yoga

 

Fun exercise ideas:

Go for a hike
Ride your bike
Go to a local Trampoline Park (Sky Zone)
Go swimming
Take dance lessons
Play paintball
Play tennis, basketball, soccer, etc.
Join an adult sports league
Sign up for a 5k/10k

 

Ways to get started:

Join a gym
Join a crossfit gym

Start exercising outside or from home
Get on a good nutrition plan
Find others who share the same fitness goals

    This is excellent tips! I love a good old exercise DVD, although these days I just find a fitness vid on youtube! Still fun!
